Salgado DR Mission Newsletter

Dear friends, mission partners, brothers and sisters in Christ,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. All glory and honor and praise be unto Him, our Lord, King, and Saviour  forever and ever, Amen.

The Lord has been answering some long time prayers. But we have also endured some  difficulties in the starting up or “rebirthing” of this work in Hato Mayor. None of it unexpected though, and truly is miniscule in comparison to the blessings  and potential we are now seeing. Continue reading “Salgado DR Mission Newsletter”

Dear mission partners, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ,

Thank you very much to all of our supporters and family in Chris who pray for our family and this mission. This last month has been very busy. Even though humanly speaking we are doing much, we trust not in our works for a even a moment. But we do rejoice in knowing we have seen signs of the Holy Spirit’s work among us (conviction of sin and spiritual growth). Praise the Lord for His grace in showing us these moments of His activity around and in the people we minister to. The Lord is always at work. Continue reading “Salgado DR Mission Newsletter”

Salgado DR Mission Video / Iglesia Bautista Hato Mayor

This is a video of some of the activities we did for the community of Hato Mayor with our friends from Morriston Baptist church. We were able to minister to 150 children in the mornings through Bible teaching, and have some fun with games, crafts, and music. There was also ministry for adults in the evening with bible studies for both men and women, a beading class for the ladies, a movie night and, a concert with worship music. Since these activities we have continued the beading class to share the gospel with ladies in the community and have had new visitors at the church. Soli Deo Gloria.

New ministry video – Hato Mayor

Here is a new ministry video of this mission here in the Dominican Republic. Our family serves as missionaries here in a new work in Hato Mayor, Santiago DR. We are a small ministry dependent upon God’s provision and grace. We also have custody of a Dominican child who is the product of a rape from a mentally handicapped young lady. We are in a process of trying to adopt this child (Yeison, the baby in the family shot) who has been with us for over ten months.  Ministry is difficult here, but the Lord is blessing the new work in Hato Mayor and we are beginning to see fruit of the ministry.  We would appreciate your prayers and are also very much in need of mission partners who are willing to financially support our endeavors. We are a doctrinally sound ministry who’s only desire is to see Christ’s church here grow and see Him be glorified. Please pray about helping. You can learn more about this ministry by exploring the site’s buttons where you can read our statement of faith, see videos, read past newsletters, and even conveniently give online. Thank you and God bless. Pray.

Grace and peace.

In service to our lord and King,

Antonio Salgado

Dear mission partners, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour. We are in what is perhaps the most exciting season of ministry during our time here, or ever for that matter. We have been visiting and reaching out to the “barrios” surrounding the church and are establishing relationships with many in the area. The Lord is moving all around us. Dear mission partners, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ,

It is unbelievable how fast this year seems to be going by. In just three months we will have been here for three years now! We have been working hard at the church and praying for God to be glorified, and we are starting to see Him move. Little by little we are seeing new faces visiting the church, and some of them returning week after week. We have a new family that is interested in joining the church as well. Christen and I visited their humble home to get to know them better and ask them some questions about their family and see where they are spiritually. It will be a huge blessing to have another family added to the church’s core group. Continue reading “Salgado DR Mission Newsletter”

Dear mission partners, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. First of all, thank you to all the people who regularly pray for and give towards our family and mission, and who God has used to keep us here on the ground doing ministry. Thank you and God bless you! There is so much to be thankful for and so much that the Lord has done as of late that it is difficult to know where to begin, but here’s an update on what we have been up to lately. Are You Willing?

I sit here reading the several articles about our twenty one brothers who were brutally murdered for their faith. Since being called to pastor a small church here, at the beginning of the year I set a theme I would preach through which is focused on evangelism and discipleship. This month of February I have been preaching on the “The Cost of Knowing Christ and Making Him Known”, primarily from the texts of Matthew 10 and Luke 14. With the events that have transpired in Libya, I sit here with the words of our Lord echoing in my head. Continue reading “Are You Willing?”

Dear friends, mission partners, brothers and sisters in Christ,

Another year has come and gone. By God’s grace, His unmerited favor, we are here. As we reflect on all the Lord has done and allowed us to be a part of since we have come here to serve and proclaim, we are left in awe of Him. The people’s lives we have had the opportunity to speak into, the many places we have had the opportunity proclaim Christ and His Gospel, the many Bible studies and lessons I have had the privilege to teach to young believers and see them grow, the divine appointments with people that the Lord has used to bring about so many things like the land and church building in Boruco.
