Biblical Christian Missionary Society exists to equip, serve with and support the continued Gospel work of the nationals, through the local church, preaching the Gospel, making disciples, training leaders and extending compassion to the most vulnerable.

Vision Statement

To see Christ centered churches established and sustained across the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Venezuela, empowered by the transformative power of the Gospel.

This vision encapsulates our long-term aspirations, emphasizing not just the initial planting of churches, but also their growth and sustainability.

 

Mission Statement

We fulfill the Great Commission by equipping nationals, making disciples, and collaborating with local partners to plant and strengthen Christ-centered churches in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Venezuela for the glory of God.

This mission statement defines our purpose and key activities:

Equipping nationals: Empowering individuals within these countries to lead and sustain ministry efforts.
Making disciples: Growing individuals in their faith and equipping them to share the Gospel.
Collaborating with local partners: Working alongside existing churches and organizations to avoid duplication of efforts and maximize impact.
Planting and strengthening churches: Establishing new congregations and supporting existing ones..
Fulfilling the Great Commission: Carrying out Jesus’ command to spread the Gospel and make disciples.

 

Core Values

1. The supremacy and sufficiency of Scripture:

The Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God, serving as the ultimate guide for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16).

This principle emphasizes using Scripture to inform all aspects of mission work, including strategy, methodology, and ethical conduct.

2. The Great Commission:

Jesus’ command to his disciples to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).

This principle emphasizes the core mission of sharing the gospel message and making disciples, leading them to faith and obedience to Christ’s teachings.

3. Love and Compassion:

Various scriptures emphasize demonstrating love for God and others, including enemies (Matthew 22:37-39, Mark 12:30-31, Luke 10:27).

Showing compassion through works alongside evangelism and discipleship and meeting practical needs as a tangible expression of God’s love. This principle emphasizes showing compassion and love towards the people encountered in mission work, prioritizing their spiritual needs, and meeting physical needs when appropriate, possible and unharmful to a persons’ growth, never hindering an individuals’ ability to work and provide for themselves.

4. Cultural Humility:

Scriptures encourage respectful interactions with people from different cultures and backgrounds (Philippians 2:3-4).

Understanding and respecting local cultures allows missionaries to tailor their approach, avoiding cultural arrogance and fostering genuine connection with the people they serve.

5. Stewardship and Accountability:

The Bible teaches accountability and responsible management of resources entrusted to individuals and organizations (Luke 16:10-13).

This principle emphasizes transparency and responsible use of resources, ensuring donations and support are used ethically and effectively for mission purposes.

6. Unity and Collaboration:

Scriptures call for believers to be united in Christ (Ephesians 4:3-6), working together with other Christians in harmony for the common goal (1 Corinthians 12:12-27).

This principle encourages collaboration with like minded believers, local churches, organizations, and missionaries, fostering unity and avoiding duplication of efforts.

 

7. Prayer and Dependence on God:

Scriptures emphasize the importance of prayer in seeking God’s guidance and provision (James 1:5).

This principle emphasizes prayer as a vital foundation for all mission activities, seeking God’s wisdom, direction, provision.
