Dear mission partners, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus. The last couple of months have been somewhat difficult in the sense of ministering and trying to make adjustments in light of what we have been doing in the past, and considering trying some new things too. We also have an upcoming trip we have been busy planning for. But even in the midst of all the business and cloud of difficult decisions to make, we would like to begin this letter by acknowledging and giving thanks and praise to God for His provision and faithfulness. This is basically a praise report.
In last month’s newsletter we mentioned that Christen was very sick due to a bite from an infected mosquito. We discovered that it was indeed dengue fever. Shortly after writing last month’s letter, she began to do much better and has since then made a full recovery. We know that many of you were praying for her and we are thankful and have no doubt that God heard those prayers. Thank you Lord.
Also in the last newsletter we mentioned that the container that was on its way with the materials for the church building in Boruco. We saw God move in all the details of that project. Our good friends at Honoring the Father Ministries Inc. not only raised the funds for the project, but also brought in a team for the construction of that building. Many times during the process for the release of the container, and the construction of the building, did it look like the plan was going to fall apart. In the first two days in the preparation for the slab to be poured, so many things fell through from the delivery of materials, release of the container, and availability of necessary equipment, that we were getting dangerously behind schedule. In the amazing providence of God, our paths were crossed with just the right people at just the right time and we suddenly began to see things come together in such a way that by the third day we somehow, in some amazing way, found ourselves ahead of schedule. I still can’t explain exactly how it all happened. The team that came was an awesome group of skilled Christian men to worked together and finished the building (after the slab was poured) in only a day and a half! It was certainly a blessing just to be a small part of that project and work with our friends at Honoring the Father Ministries. We are excited about what God is doing there in Boruco. Thank you Lord.
Finally, in another praise report, we did reach our goal for the funds we were raising for the tickets of our upcoming trip. Once again the Lord has provided just what we need, just when we needed it. This has been the story of our lives since the Lord has saved us , since we have been in ministry, and even more so, since we have been on the mission field. In all honesty and transparency, were there times when my faith was small? Yes. Were there times when I doubted? Yes. But was there ever a time when God did not come through or did not provide ….never! Time and time again God has confirmed that He is with us and that this is where He would have us now. Our life has been a testimony of God’s faithfulness and provision. And every time He comes through I am convicted of my disbelief and reminded of Who it is that we serve. There is a reason He tells us to trust Him and not to lean on our own understanding. Thank you Lord.
With our trip back to the States approaching quickly we do have a few prayer requests:
First please pray for Pastor Jose and the churches while we are gone. We split up the preaching and teaching aspects of ministry between Pastor Jose, Jared, and I. With the Duncan’s, and soon us also gone for a little while, Pastor Jose has a quite a load to carry for a time. He has also had a few health concerns so please pray for him and the churches here. Which brings us to our next request. The Duncan’s are currently in the States where Celia should be giving birth to their second child any day now. Pray for them, especially Celia and the new baby. And finally, pray for us on this trip. We have a lot of traveling to do and still don’t have all of our transportation figured out. And, although the kids are going back for testing, they still have their regular assignments to keep up with. Traveling so much can be hard on them and makes it that much more difficult to stay focused and keep up with everything. Please keep them in your prayers and us in general for safe travels. We will do our best to keep up with what is happening here in the DR while we are gone through Pastor Jose and update our facebook page along the way.
Our family and ministry will always be in desperate need of your prayers. We would greatly appreciate it if you could add us to your church’s prayer list as well. We are completely powerless to do anything unless God moves in the hearts and lives of people. We have faith that He will, through sharing the Gospel, the preaching of His Word, and showing the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. We know that God is with us every step of the way.
Be sure to follow us on this journey @ Salgado DR Mission on Facebook. Friend us, “like” and share our posts and updates with your friends and family to show your support of what God is doing in the Dominican Republic. We regularly post updates and pictures, also be on the lookout for some videos coming soon along with our monthly newsletter via email. And of course, everything costs money, even ministry, and especially in missions when working with the less fortunate. My family and I are excited, because it is truly a privilege and an honor to serve God in this way. If you are already giving to this ministry, we are very thankful for your prayers and support, and for your obedience and love for the Lord, for you are truly storing up for yourselves treasures in heaven (Matt. 6:19-21). If you are not a mission partner, we ask that you prayerfully consider giving to this ministry. Those who give to missions play just as an important role as those on the mission field, and we depend on your faithful giving.
If the Lord so lays on your heart to give back to Him by supporting this ministry, you can send your tax deductible gift to Romeo Baptist Church 20545 SW 5th Pl. Dunnellon Fl, 34431. Please be sure to write Salgado DR Mission in the memo. Thank you and God bless you.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”- Matthew 28:18-20
